In case you are using the SAP Customer Service (CS) Module and migrate to S/4HANA, you might wonder what happens with CS. On SAP Help you can find some information about the Customer Service Module. That’s the product documentation and lacks additional information. Searching the internet you might find information regarding the EOL date of CS. The note 2269324 contains all the information needed regarding the usage of CS with S/4HANA.

CS is available for S/4HANA on-premise / private cloud as a compatibility pack. The overview presentation shows that users of CS are lucky: the restricted usage does not end 2025, but is extend until 31.12.2030.

Why lucky? Other CP end their life cycle at the end of 2025. Maybe the time to provide an alternative for CS on S/4HANA took too long for SAP to provide and to make the transition easier, the EOL date was extended?

What to do when you do not want to use the CP? What is the alternative for CS in S/4HANA? In the Excel the alternative is listed:

usage rights have been extended until the end of 2030;
Alternative is SAP S/4HANA Service Management, shippend in first version with Rel 2023;
Roadmap until 2025 planned via FPS 1-3 plus Rel 2025 shipment. Comparable scope planned for release 2023 FPS1

Even with the CP CS available until end of 2030: start your migration. SAP Note 2962632 gives a very good reason why:

Customer Service (CS) will be replaced by S/4HANA Service. S/4HANA Service will be the new state-of-the-art Service Management backend as part of SAP S/4HANA.

If this is not good enough, maybe this is:

Required and Recommended Action(s)

Customer Service (CS) in S/4HANA is intended as a bridge or interim solution, which allows you a stepwise system conversion from SAP ERP to SAP S/4HANA on-premise edition and SAP S/4HANA Service.

To learn more about S/4HANA Service: there is an SCN site, a learning journey, learning course and SAP Help.
