Released: SAP Development Tech Radar 2025.6

The SAP Development Tech Radar 2025.6 is released and available here.

Changes

The following technologies were added:

  • SAP Business Client (NWBC)
  • AMDP
  • Business Configuration Maintenance
  • SM30
  • SAP List Viewer (ALV)
  • SAPscript
  • JCO, standalone
  • BTP, ABAP environment

No technologies were removed or moved to another ring.

Status

The SAP Development Tech Radar (SDTR) 2025.6 is published and valid until the next version is released. Currently the next version is planned to be 2025.12, with a release date in December 2025. The currently published SDTR 2025.6 won’t change until a new version is released, allowing for stable usage by architects.

The proposal phase for adding or changing entries is planned to start in July. If you want to contribute to the SDTR, please feel free to do so by adding a PR.

Review

The usage and impact of the SDTR exceeded my initial expectations. It was picked up by architects and developers and is currently used in many different companies. Some use it as-is, others have adopted it to match their landscape, or it is seen as a source of inspiration to start something similar.

The SDTR started publicly in February 2024. So far, 3 releases have been published. By coincidence, so far, all releases have been announced at an ABAPConf conference.
